AC EV charger: commonly known as "slow charging", is fixedly installed outside the electric vehicle and connected to the AC power grid, and provides AC power for the on-board charger of the electric vehicle (that is, the charger fixedly installed on the electric vehicle). The AC EV charger only provides power output and has no charging function. It needs to be connected to the on-board charger to charge the electric vehicle. It is equivalent to just playing the role of controlling the power supply.

The EV charger body has complete safety protection functions, including power input side protection and output side protection. The protection on the power input side includes leakage protection, lightning protection, over-voltage and under-voltage protection. The output side protection includes output over-current protection and output short-circuit protection, which can ensure personal safety and equipment safety. The charging interface adopts a rainproof design to meet the requirements of outdoor operation.

Currently, global charging standards are divided into three categories:

CCS joint charging: European standard-CCS 2 (Type 2), American standard-CCS 1 (Type 1)

GB/T Chinese charging standard

CHAdeMO Japanese standard

The difference in hardware is as follows:

Combination of European and American standards: Type 1 and Type 2, evolved into Combo 1 and Combo 2, this charging mode allows you to use slow and fast charging at the same time. Due to the use of inverter technology that converts DC to AC, the American standard can be operated on the charging connector. Vehicles with this connection can increase the charging speed to the fastest charging speed. The main application areas are: Combo 1 for North America, South Korea, Taiwan and other regions; Combo 2 for Europe, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Australia, the Middle East and other regions.

GBT Chinese standard charging interface: The national standard is divided into two types of connectors: slow charging (AC) connector and fast charging (DC) connector.

CHAdeMO Japanese charging interface: AC is similar to the American standard, and DC is similar to the GBT Chinese standard. It is also an AC and DC split connector.
